Tennessee Airmen assist restoring communications capability
Seven Airmen from the 241st Engineering Installation Squadron in Chattanooga, Tenn., a geographically separated unit of the 134th Air Refueling Wing in Knoxville, Tenn., arrived here Feb. 26 to help restore the 1st Air Force (Air Forces Northern) communications infrastructure damaged by Hurricane Michael Oct. 10, 2018.

JB Charleston opens airfield for Hurricane Florence recovery operations
Joint Base Charleston, responsible for the runways shared by the base and Charleston International Airport, announced at 9 a.m. Sept. 15, 2018 that the joint airfield will open for limited recovery operations aircraft only. Col. Clint ZumBrunnen’s, 437th Airlift Wing commander, decision to re-open the airfield to commercial and general aviation will be contingent upon the rescinded evacuation order from the governor of South Carolina.
