JB Charleston opens airfield for Hurricane Florence recovery operations
Joint Base Charleston, responsible for the runways shared by the base and Charleston International Airport, announced at 9 a.m. Sept. 15, 2018 that the joint airfield will open for limited recovery operations aircraft only. Col. Clint ZumBrunnen’s, 437th Airlift Wing commander, decision to re-open the airfield to commercial and general aviation will be contingent upon the rescinded evacuation order from the governor of South Carolina.

1st AF hosts fourth annual Air Domain Security Integration Meeting

The event was held to refine and improve processes which enhance integrated approaches to the safety and security of the U.S. national airspace.
