  • America’s AOC welcomes new commander

    The 601st Air Operations Center welcomed a new commander during a ceremony held here on September 26, 2019. The age old military tradition, passing of the flag during the ceremony, symbolized the change in leadership as Col. Gregory Krane assumed command of the 601st AOC from Col. Michael Valle. The 601st AOC change of command was presided over by Lt. Gen. Marc Sasseville, Continental U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command Region – First Air Force (Air Forces Northern) commander.
  • AFRCC holds change of command

    The Air Force Rescue Coordination Center received a new commander during a change of command ceremony today. After two years as the AFRCC commander, Lt. Col. Evan H. Gardner relinquished command to Lt. Col. Gene M. Manner, who had been serving as the AFRCC director of operations.
  • WADS Welcomes New Canadian Detachment Commander

    The Canadian Detachment at the Western Air Defense Sector officially changed command Tuesday. Lt. Col. Michael Fawcett assumed command from Lt. Col. Matthew Wappler, who finished a three-year tour of duty as the Canadian Detachment commanding officer. Fawcett’s responsibilities will include leading the 15-member Canadian Detachment and serving as part of the WADS staff. Wappler is transferring to 1 Canadian Air Division in Winnipeg, Manitoba, as the senior staff officer for Aerospace Capabilities and Readiness.
