Air National Guard C-130, MAFFS 9 out of Reno, Nev. launches July 14, 2021, from McClellan Air Tanker Base, Sacramento, Calif. The DoD, through the commander, U.S. Northern Command (USNORTHCOM), provides support to the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC) in conducting wildland fire fighting operations as requested. The USDA Forest Service activated the MAFFS-equipped Air Force C-130 aircraft June 26 through a DoD request for assistance.
