National Guard efforts leading to success on the U.S.-Mexico Border
Task Force Diamondback U. S. Army soldiers from the 188th Engineer Company apply welding to the U.S. side of the primary steel border fence at the U.S.-Mexico border June 6, 2007. The soldiers, from the North Dakota Army National Guard, are using motorized boom lifts which allow them to safely work at various heights along the fence. The mission of Task Force Diamondback, under Operation JUMP START, is to erect and reinforce segments of border fence and to construct obstacles along the border to help secure the southwest U.S.-Mexico border.
