No ice, no problem! Canadian military hockey teams face off at Tyndall
Brig. Gen. Christopher Coates (in uniform), Continental U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command Region deputy commander, watches the action during a street hockey game between teams from the Tyndall Air Force Base Canadian Detachment and the Royal Canadian Air Force’s 409 Squadron team Jan. 31. The 409 Squadron, which flies CF-18s, is at Tyndall to participate in Combat Archer training with the 53rd Weapons Evaluation Group. Given the rarity of visits by other Canadian units to Tyndall, the base detachment jumped on the chance to play a friendly game of their national sport with fellow Canadians.
