MEDIA ADVISORY: Thad Allen to conduct press brief at Tyndall AFB

The National Incident Commander for the Deepwater Horizon/BP Oil Spill Response, retired Adm. Thad Allen, will hold his daily press conference at Tyndall Air Force Base Friday, July 30 at 11:45 a.m. Central Time.

The admiral will provide an operational update on ongoing Deepwater Horizon/BP oil spill response efforts after visiting the Aviation Coordination Command that is currently operating out of the 601st Air & Space Operations Center here.

Media representatives interested in attending the press conference must be at the Tyndall Visitor Center located across from Tyndall's Sabre Gate (just east of the DuPont Bridge) no later than 11 a.m. to be escorted to the briefing room.

There will be a 'question & answer' opportunity with the Admiral following his presentation.

Media representatives will be required to produce affiliate credentials in order to attend the press briefing, and all drivers must have valid license, registration and proof of insurance. Vehicles and personnel accessing the base are subject to search.
