CONR-1st AF announces annual award winners

Continental U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command Region-1st Air Force (Air Forces Northern) recently announced its 2011 annual award winners, which include Airmen and civilians from across the country.

Lt. Gen. Sid Clarke, Continental U.S. NORAD Region-1st Air Force (AFNORTH) commander said the competition this year was top notch.

"When I arrived here in August, I quickly picked up on the outstanding level of service we provide this nation every day," Clarke said. "And these award winners continue to raise the bar for those who follow in their footsteps. Congratulations to all on a job well done!"

The winners will now go on to compete in their respective categories at Air Combat Command, NORAD and U.S. Northern Command and the National Guard Bureau.

The annual awards banquet is set for March 21 at Tyndall Air Force Base, during the 1st Air Force Commander's Conference, when all of the command's top leaders will be on hand for the celebration.

The 2011 Continental U.S. NORAD Region-1st Air Force (Air Forces Northern) annual award winners are:

Headquarters 1st AF Outstanding Airmen of the Year
