Col. Roberto Balzano, left, the CONR-1AF (AFNORTH) National Capital Region liaison officer; Mr. Edgar Salinas, center, the CONR-1AF (AFNORTH) Air-Maritime Operations Center (AMOC) liaison officer and Col. Paul Bishop, EADS Commander, posed for a photo after this morning’s interagency meeting at EADS facility in Rome, N.Y.  The meeting brought together a dozen leaders, operators and technical experts from the AMOC, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol and the Air Force Research Lab – Rome Research Site to discuss “whole-of-government” approaches and solutions to several common challenges. In addition to the discussion, the group received an hour-long operational overview in EADS Battle Control Center.

EADS is one of two North American Aerospace Defense (NORAD) air defense sectors in the Continental United States (CONUS) and reports directly to First Air Force-Continental U.S. North American Aerospace Defense Command Region at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida.
