Air Forces Northern can send expeditionary medical support to victims affected by natural or man-made disasters.
In past real-world contingencies AFNORTH provided critical assistance in areas needing it the most. During Hurricane Katrina AFNORTH delivered more than 13,000 tons of essential supplies, oversaw nearly 30,000 rescues, and helped evacuate more than 28,000 people from the disaster area.
The Air Component Coordination Element, or ACCE, is the Air Force organization designed to perform the command and control function for Air Force assets supporting such operations as Defense Support of Civil Authorities.
