MISSION AFNORTH is employed as the USNORTHCOM service component to plan, prepare and execute aerospace-based mission responses during homeland defense and DCSA missions and operations. As a supporting agency within U.S. Northern Command, AFNORTH assists primary federal agencies by providing Air Force personnel, assets and capabilities as requested by the primary agencies. The AFNORTH commander serves as the JFACC, Airspace Control Authority, Area Air Defense Commander, Space Coordination Authority, and Collections Operations Management Responsibility for DoD airborne incident awareness and assessment assets.
