AIR EXPEDITIONARY WINGS

Air Forces Northern can assist the Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Emergency Management Agency with their response efforts in the wake of natural or manmade disasters by standing up an Air Expeditionary Wing. 
An Air Expeditionary Wing can bring AFNORTH operational and medical personnel and equipment to support the DHS, FEMA and the FBI for consequence and crisis management. 

An AEW can consist of an expeditionary medical group, providing highly-trained medical professionals and a mobile hospital to support the medical needs of emergency responders. The AEW also can have geographically separated expeditionary operations groups, such as search and rescue capability, to support military forces and civilian agencies operating in the field.
