Lieutenant Colonel Juliana T. Bruns is Commander, Detachment 2, First Air Force and Commander, 22 Wing (RCAF) Operations Support Squadron, as well as Deputy Commander, Canadian Air Defence Sector, Canadian Forces Base North Bay, Ontario, Canada. In this capacity, she leads a bi-national and joint team of USAF and RCAF in direct support of the Canadian NORAD Region mission of air defense and ensuring air sovereignty of North America.
Lieutenant Colonel Bruns received her commission from the United States Air Force Officer Training School in 2004. During her career she has held a variety of positions, including Evaluator Air Battle Manager, Chief of Standards and Evaluation, and Wing and Group Executive Officers. More recently she was the Director of Operations of the 960 Airborne Air Control Squadron where she led, directed, and managed operations for worldwide employment of over 300 personnel and five E-3 aircraft valued at $2.5 billion.
Lt. Col. Bruns is a senior air battle manager with more than 1,933 flying hours.
