The 1AF (AFNORTH) National Security Emergency Preparedness (NSEP) directorate facilitates/coordinates USAF Defense Support to Civil Authorities (DSCA) for natural/man-made disasters and emergencies. Advises and consults with Office of the Secretary of Defense, combatant commands, Joint Staff Director of Military Support (JDOMS), and all levels of civil/military authorities on DSCA issues. Provides Air Force leadership critical situational awareness to and from the field.
