Civil Air Patrol, CONR converge for conference
Civil Air Patrol Col. Al Bedgood, CAP Southeast Region commander, presents a CAP patch to Lt. Gen. Sid Clarke, Continental U.S. NORAD Region-1st Air Force (Air Forces Northern) commander, during their regional conference at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla., Jan. 21. CAP is a nonprofit, volunteer organization. In its Air Force Auxiliary role, CAP performs 90 percent of continental U.S. inland search and rescue missions as tasked by the AFRCC and was credited with saving 53 lives in 2011.
