First Air Force Remembers 9-11

First Air Force is hosting a 9-11 remembrance ceremony to honor those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and also recognize those service members who support Operation Noble Eagle and the homeland defense mission.

Maj. Gen. Scott Mayes, 1st Air Force, Air Forces Northern, Continental U.S. NORAD Region commander, will lead a wreath laying ceremony at Flag Park at 9 a.m. and Canadian Forces Brig. Gen. Marcel Duval, CONUS NORAD Region deputy commander, will also speak at the ceremony, which marks the fifth anniversary of the attacks.

Maj Gen Mayes will host a memorial brunch the Tyndall Enlisted Club at 10 a.m. where Retired Maj. Gen. Larry Arnold, former 1st Air Force commander, and Lt. Col. Donald Arias, AFNORTH public affairs director, will speak about their personal 9-11 experiences.
