CHIEF OF NGB VISITS TYNDALL Published Feb. 13, 2008 TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The Chief of the National Guard Bureau recently visited Tyndall Air Force base to tour First Air Force and the 601st Air and Space Operations Center. Army LTG H Steven Blum arrived Tuesday morning on Tyndall's runways and was greeted by the First Air Force Commander, Maj. Gen. Hank Morrow. His tour included the site of the new First Air Force Headquarters building and the 601 AOC operations floor, which monitors all of the air traffic in the Continental United States. LTG Blum is the senior uniformed National Guard officer responsible for formulating, developing and coordinating all policies, programs and plans affecting more than half a million Army and Air National Guard personnel. -30-
