A cross section of military specialties to include operations, intelligence and communications, came together here March 14 for an incentive flight aboard a Navy P-8A Poseidon from Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Fla. March 14. The aircraft was here to present a working demonstration to Air Forces Northern leadership about the viability of using imagery-feed capabilities from the P-8A Poseidon during a Defense Support of Civil Authorities  event. Canadian Forces Brig. Gen. Alain Pelletier, deputy commander of the Continental United States NORAD Region, flew with the South Carolina Air National Guard here and addressed the 169th Fighter Wing's role in the homeland defense mission, February 29 - March 1. During his visit, Pelletier toured the base with U.S. Air Force Col. David Meyer, commander of the 169th FW, and Lt. Col. Ian Toogood, commander of 169th FW Aerospace Control Alert. The second day of his visit included an orientation flight in an F-16 Fighting Falcon Block 52 fighter jet.

More than 100 Airmen from the 920th Rescue Wing here trained with Royal Canadian Air Force search-and-rescue personnel during an annual exercise in Key West, Florida, March 2-6.During the search-and-rescue exercise, or SAREX, the Reserve Airmen and their counterparts practiced land and water rescue operations on the island just 90 miles from Cuba.
